John's surgery went well - they were able to stick with the plan, and used a balloon to stretch out the scar tissue. They did notice some concerns of sleep apnea, possibly caused by a piece of tissue that is flapping over his airway at night. We will have to keep an eye on that. We go back in a month. If this sleep apnea causes a need for surgery, it will be more intense, possibly even having to open him up through the neck.
All in all, the doctor was extremely optimistic about the procedure and John's progress. Of course, I'm short on the details since I wasn't there, but will fill you in as I get more. Thanks for praying! Please pray that they have a safe trip home tomorrow.
