There are moments in serving with those we love that we must welcome the changes that God brings as He expands His Kingdom. These moments require us to embrace God's movement in people's lives. This is one of those moments.
Recently, Dustin Dozier shared with me that he and Sloan sensed God’s calling on their lives to a new ministry assignment. He has accepted the position of High School and College Pastor for Lifepoint Church in Smyrna, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. Dustin will continue to serve Stonecreek Students through the end of December, transitioning to his new place of ministry January 1, 2012.
Ken Murphy, Lead Pastor, has already begun meeting with Dustin and participating in our student environments to ensure a smooth transition. Please be in prayer for us as we begin our search for a new Student Pastor. We are fortunate to have quality leadership in Surge and Hydr8 and we will continue to serve students with the same passion and intentionality they experience every week.
These words are from Dustin:
“Approximately six months ago, Sloan and I began to have a deep impression in our hearts that God was calling us to do something. For several months our prayer has been to be more attentive to God’s voice and to simply listen and obey.
As we navigated and carefully listened to what God wanted us to do, He lead us to Lifepoint Church outside of Nashville, TN. Through several confirming moments along this journey of obedience, we feel that God has called us to Lifepoint Church to continue impacting the next generation for Christ as their High School and College Pastor.
Sloan and I both wish we had words to adequately explain how grateful we are to each and every one of you. Without your leadership, support and commitment, the Student Ministry would not be where it is today. God is doing great things at Stonecreek! Your passion for students and investment in their lives will continue to impact generations to come.
We are incredibly thankful for your love, support and encouragement over the years, as well as the support and blessing of our Pastor and staff family. – Dustin”
I am grateful for the season of ministry that I have had to serve as Dustin and Sloan’s Pastor, and am proud of the man I have seen him become. Please take time to write a note of appreciation expressing your gratitude for their ministry service, encouraging the Doziers in their new ministry assignment.
To honor the Dozier’s ministry service, The Student Ministry will be hosting parties on Sunday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m. for Middle School in Surge and 11 a.m. for High School in Hydr8. Notes of appreciation will be collected and given to the Doziers during these environments.
