Yeah, there are times when you have to throw on the garb to be a good parent. I'm glad you don't get to look in the mirror first.
We had to put this get-up on to go with John to get a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter). A PICC is a long, thin, flexible tube known as a catheter. It is inserted into one of the large veins of the arm near the bend of the elbow. It is then slid into the vein until the tip sits in a large vein just above the heart.
They went this route because after sticking him 5 times and not being able to secure an IV, this as the next best step. It went pretty quick, but we did have to wear the medical helmet and face mask.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) @ 8:30 John will have the swallow test. This should tell if things are REALLY going down the right way. Please pray for this, that things go well for John. He seems to be doing better, but I am guarded after all we have been through. Also, pray that it goes "extremely well" and we get to be home for our daughter's homecoming.
Wednesday is still the scheduled day for the scope to see what else is happening in John's neck. That should give us next steps.
I must say I am pumped about being back this Sunday. You won't want to miss it. Bring your One Life. Pray for the ~600 names in the lobby, that they begin to see the light. Pray that God will do something in your life. Pray that God shows us favor.
